Client

Startup with a charitable idea to help university students

A startup with a charitable fundraising initiative aimed at providing students with the necessary textbooks and materials by facilitating monetary donations from sponsors.

Problem

Finding a reliable partner for a non-commercial project

The client needed a reliable IT partner to develop a scalable software platform that could handle different user and transactional models. The primary goal was to create a secure crowdfunding solution that would prevent the misappropriation of funds and ensure that donations were used specifically for purchasing textbooks.

Solution

Custom software solution that benefits all parties

Syberry developed a crowdfunding platform to centralize and streamline fundraising and textbook purchasing. The platform legally insulates donations from students, ensuring funds are used as intended. Key features include direct payment to book suppliers, bookstore integration, and use of popular services for payment processing and social media sharing.

This solution reroutes students to bookstores, increasing revenue, and reduces students' out-of-pocket costs, even for materials outside the bookstore. Users donate to student campaigns, with funds held in the platform's bank account until purchase. Returns are credited to the system, not the students.

  • Secure fund management

Syberry implemented secure fund management, with donations deposited into the platform's bank account and disbursed directly to book suppliers upon purchase, preventing misuse of funds.
