Client
Technology company with a product idea
An educational technology company wanted schools to change educational outcomes through improved communication and information sharing. The client aimed to help schools use their websites and communication technology to bring parents, students, faculty, staff, and the entire school community closer together. Their vision was to offer schools an innovative, professionally designed web technology along with a playbook to allow even non-techies to embrace the power of their school website. To act on the vision, the client collaborated with Syberry.
Problem
Existing platforms do not fulfill the needs of educators, students, or parents
Schools faced everyday communication challenges that undermined their ability to efficiently share information and engage with their communities. Traditional CMS platforms and local server hosting were not tailored to meet educators' specific needs, resulting in high costs, technical headaches, and limited functionality. The client needed a solution that would allow parents to see their children's assignments, access the school lunch menu, help IT staff reduce overhead costs, and overall improve communication across the board.
Solution
Tailored, easy-to-use communication platform for schools
Syberry's team collaborated with the client to translate their ideas and business goals into a comprehensive product plan. After thorough research and strategic planning, we designed, built, and delivered a secure, cost-efficient software system combined with support and hosting services.
The new platform included interactive features such as teacher pages, staff and faculty directories, event calendars, e-newsletters, news and press release management, blogging, podcasting, FAQs, form builders, and RSS feeds.
Challenge #1
Maintaining Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility guidelines compliance
Ensuring that the platform remained accessible to all users was a continuous challenge. To address this, we implemented automated testing and ongoing issue resolution to maintain full ADA compliance.
Challenge #2
Scalability
As more schools adopted the platform, it was crucial to ensure that the system could handle increased usage without compromising performance. We optimized the code and utilized scalable cloud infrastructure to maintain reliability and speed.
Challenge #3
Data privacy and security
Protecting sensitive student and school data required robust security measures. We implemented encryption, access controls, and regular security audits to safeguard user information and comply with regulatory standards.
